North Wales: Snowdonia and Coastal Castles (May 26)

The weather finally caught up with us - it is light rainy and socked in this morning.  We're chilling in our cottage in Snowdonia National Park, about 10 minutes from the adorable little town of Beddgelert ("Bethgelley").  Tiny winding roads and incredible scenery of Mount Snowden and surrounds. Our plan today is to check out some coastal castles and wrap around the park back to Beddgelert- although getting off this comfy couch is hard in the cool rainy weather!  (Will stayed back to work today).

Some photos of Criccieth, Caenarfon and Dolbadarn castles:

Caenarfon Castle
This castle was my favorite. So huge and cool towers to climb. Also, endless passages where you could get lost and find your way out and to the next section of castle or tower. A huge game!

Dad climbin' some towers - and a bit breezy!

Cheers (in the smallest pub in Wales!)

Will spent the rainy day getting some work done, and the rest of us went off to see a few more sights...but then it got sunny, and we found the smallest pub in Wales.  This is the picture-text we sent to Will.

Dolbadarn Castle

We drove over the pass and over to Beddgelert.

Beddgelert!
We stopped back in Beddgelert to catch some of it in the sunlight
