Iceland: Happy Solstice! The Golden Circle (June 21)

Happy Summer Solstice. I drove to Pingvaller National Park (part of the Golden Circle) today before heading to the airport for an early afternoon flight back to Denver and then Albuquerque.

Iceland: The south coast (June 20)

A bit of an overcast day and fighting a bit of a head cold, I took it "easy" by driving the south coast today.  It cleared off toward the end of the day...

Iceland: Grindavik and the southwest coast (June 19)

Hi everyone! Made it to Iceland and staying at a guesthouse in Gridavik, which is close to the famous Blue Lagoon.  I explored some of the southwest coast yesterday, a beautiful desolate volcanic landscape with huge patches of blooming lupine every so often. Sunset was at midnight last night, so there was a lot of playtime in the evening.  Huge fish and chips for dinner (uh-oh!).

Milan and Malpensa (June 18)

I'm catching a noon train to Milan Centrale today, visiting with my friend Claudia in Milan, and then onto La Viscontina hotel (huge room!) near Malpensa airport for an early flight to London, then Iceland tomorrow...

Burano and Venice (June 17)

I worked a little this morning and then headed to Burano for lunch and exploring. Back to centro Venice in the evening for more (purposeful) getting lost in endless alleys, finding amazing buildings, and dwelling in St. Mark's Square. :)
