Alcantara Gorge and Palermo (June 1)

Today was mostly a travel day, starting with a lovely slow morning in Taormina.  We checked out Alcantara gorge with hexagonal shaped basalt rock - beautiful. Then we drove up a slow, windy mountain highway up and over the ridge to the northern coastal autostrada (fast highway).  A quick drive 'through' Cefalu and back on the highway to Palermo and our B&B overlooking cupolas near the quattro canti (four corners) (in old town). A lovely lovely passaggiata, aperol spritzers, and amazing food on a street side restaurant.  We met and ate dinner with a cool woman from New York named Kayla. Yes - Palermo!

Goodbye Taormina!

Hello Alcantara gorge!

Cefalu streets. (Somehow we ended up driving these dinky pedestrian streets - oops! We were so punchy, laughing so hard...OMG)
